Decisions, decisions....

On a "let's make this all about me" note, I need help making a choice:

Rose Twiggy?

Black City Classique?

Or Pewter City Classique?

I'm loving the color of the Rose Twiggy, but the Black City Classique is so versatile and stress-free in terms of wear and care. The Pewter is gorgeous, but I'm a tad afraid that big slouchy metallic bags will become the avocado green of 2005.

Or should I forgo them all and hope to get my hands on the delectable Rouge City Classique when they come out in September? I am so confused. Help me.

The black bag looks like a spider. Frankly, it kinda creeps me out. The rose one is at least warm. If you really love the pewter one, well I know some chicks who rock avocado, nothing is beyond someone who is confident about what they love.

    HI,

i too am a fellow bag-aholic. and i would recommend either the Red or the Black. While the Metallic is gorgeous, it will soon be out of fashion (my thinking) and the red or black will be better suited to the long-term use.

And if you aren't able to buy both the Red and the Black (sad :O( ), then i vote for the red. The black makes it look like just another Black bag with a bit of funk, but the Red has more sass and oomph.

the rose twiggy, absolutely. i prefer bags with character, and though black will always remain a safe and "classic" choice, the rose really captures the eye.

also, a commentator named chemlex who was looking for an apple orchard rafe bag. i just wanted to let her know that there is one up on eBay!

please pardon my doing this here, but i'm an old friend of hers, and i'd love to hear from her. she can email me to get ahold of me.

I'm afraid I have to vote for the rose, as well. The pewter REALLY caught my eye, but metallics...eh...they will be out soon and, while a light metallic sheen on a neutral color (the fall luggage/gold Hogan Scout) will work forever, a metallic pewter might not. The black is classic, but it just is lacking something. Color? I think the rose could have some longevity to it, and it is a beautiful color...softens up the "bad boy-ness" of the Balenciaga.

Rose Twiggy. Metallics will be gone before we know it, although I'm tempted by them as well. Black? Everyone has black.

i agree..scared of the metallic turning avacado! (even though im carrying a goldish metallic sondra roberts right now) i like brown/chocolate for fall. Have you seen the Iconic Shoulder bag (oh it's so yummy!)..has a funky take on the fringe thing going. back to topic- with your choices i personally like the rose.

I agree with the rose... I saw one of those NY street purse vendors selling gold and silver fake balenciagas on 7th ave, so the pewter will probably be next. I like the rose, not so much for the color as for the shape...less likely to be knocked off. However, when you think of what will be a "legend" bag in the future (high collectiblity), the black is the way to go...it started the whole balenciaga craze.

I tend to shy away from any metallic bags, so of the other two, I'd definitely go with the rose. It's probably more versatile than the black, ultimately.

I would go with the black. That's not the best picture of it, but the black classique is gorgeous, timeless and will go with everything. I love the rose colour of the Twiggy but not so keen on the shape of the twiggy.

I have a pewter bag, and it goes with a lot fewer outfits that I thought it would. And like you and many others have said...metallic bags are now just waiting to become 80s throwback fashion faux-pas. I wouldn't throw away all that money on such a trend. Black classiques are still quite a rare, coveted find.

I second Gemma...black is timeless and always will be classic. You'd be able to match this bag with almost everything you wear!
